It’s my honor to speak here on the topic of “Low Carbon Campus, Starting from Ourselves.”

However, we can easily see some ungreen habits around us. Lights are often left on in empty classrooms, and many plastic bottles are thrown away before being recycled. These habits quietly harm our environment.

Actually, we can do a lot from small things in daily life. We can turn off the lights when leaving a room, take reusable bottles instead of plastic ones, and sort waste properly. Even walking or cycling to school is a simple but helpful choice.

Dear fellow students, small actions can add up to make a big difference. Let’s take action now to make our campus greener and more beautiful!

As chairman of the Students’ Union, I feel greatly honored to open this event. The competition, whose theme is “The English Novel I Like Best”, is far more than a game. and today I am very glad to run for vice president of our English Club.

I believe I am a proper choice for this position. I am outgoing and easy to get along with, and I have rich experience in organizing class activities. My good command of English also helps me communicate well with others.

I usually make good use of online resources in two ways. First, I listen to English podcasts and watch documentaries online, which helps improve my listening and pronunciation. Second, I take part in English forums where I can chat with native speakers and practice my writing.

In my opinion, learning English on the Internet truly opens up a whole new world. It brings us rich and up-to-date materials and lets us learn at our own pace, though we should always choose reliable websites.

Recently our class has had a discussion about how we middle school students should spend our pocket money. In my opinion, we can use it in a wise way.

First, it is a good idea to save some money in the bank, which helps us form the habit of saving. Second, we can buy books with the money, because reading opens up our eyes and gives us more knowledge. Besides, we may also spend it on our hobbies, such as music, sports or stamp collecting, to develop our interests.
