①希腊词经拉丁转写
希腊词被拉丁直接收写，词尾拉丁化（-os→-us/-is、-on→-um）；这是书面直接转写，不改词根 gram-graph。
②入英路径
希腊词或经拉丁转写、古法语进入日常英语，或在 17–19 世纪由学者用希腊词干直接造学术词；本根 gram-graph 以后者为主。
③连接元音 -o- 与复合形
希腊构词用连接元音 -o-，本根在复合词里常作 gram-graph-o-…；连接元音是希腊复合词的核心。
④希腊字母转写规则

kilogram/gram（克，虽来自 gramma「小砝码」但已专指重量单位）、grampus（灰海豚，拉丁 crassus piscis「肥鱼」）——gram 作重量单位时是 gramma 的二次专化，见 gram 先判是「书写」还是「砝码」。
